Details of Disappearance
Samantha Burns was last seen by her aunt at the Huntington Mall in Barboursville, WV, at 6:30 on the evening of November 11, 2002. At 9:45 p.m. that evening, Burns used her cellular phone to call her mother and said had been visiting friends at Marshall University Court Yard Apartments but was coming home. Burns lived in East Hamlin, West Virginia. She never arrived there and has never been heard from again. The call to her mother was the last one Burns made on her phone. After her disappearance the phone was discovered to be turned off, which is uncharacteristic of Burns.

At 3:30 a.m. on November 12, Burns’ 1999 burgundy Chevrolet Cavalier with a tiger sticker in the back window on the driver’s side and a license plate numbered 5X9326 was found abandoned in Wayne County, West Virginia. The vehicle was discovered in a secluded area at German Ridge and Haneys Branch Roads, near the Cabell-Wayne county line. It had been set on fire; when the police found it, it was still burning. There was no sign of Burns near the vehicle.

In July 2005, Chadrick Fulks and Branden Basham pleaded guilty to a federal charge of carjacking resulting in death to avoid a possible death sentence. Basham and Fulks had escaped from the Hopkins County (Ky.) Jail in November 2002. They have said that they carjacked Burns shortly thereafter and killed her, though her body has not been found. They are currently on death row for another killing, that of Alice Donovan from South Carolina.

Story about your missing loved one: Michael “Austin” Davis, (Austin) was born into our family April 24th, 1981. We were always told what a charming young man he was and that he’d do well, even as we stressed over grades, homework and responsible behavior.  As he grew he continued to make us proud of the man he was becoming, making the mistakes that we all make, but finding himself and a direction for his life.  Austin learned to cook as a young man and was good at it, working at a well known seafood restaurant chain as he studied to be a computer technician.  He loved fixing us a favorite dish, or conferring on the best seasonings to use while grilling, or suggesting different ways to cook something;  that part of him always surprised me a little, but in the best possible way.  Austin’s quiet sweetness is something I miss more than I can ever express, especially the times he’d say Mom can we talk….and he’d share parts of himself with me.

Austin was 26 at the time of his disappearance June 26th, 2007 when he took a taxi ride that ended at Jax Jewelry and Pawn Shop at the intersection of 103rd Street and Blanding Blvd in Jacksonville, FL around 12:30pm.  Police have confirmed that Austin bought a shotgun there, put the gun in a duffle bag (a few inches of the barrel sticking out) and left the shop on foot.  He’d never owned a gun, so that alone was out of character, but he also normally wouldn’t normally have walked, as he had chronic pain in both knees and back and walking distances was difficult.  Leads have been followed, many large scale searches conducted, but none have panned out.  There has been no access of personal accounts or cell phone use since that day.  We also later learned that he never cashed his last paycheck from work.  Austin left all personal belongings behind including a laptop and backpack that he never left home without.

My heart is broken that my son is out there somewhere, and that we’ve not been able to bring him home.  We reached out to the CUE Center for Missing Persons early on in our search and have been guided through this journey with support, awareness events, advocacy and numerous searches.  There are many that stand with us, the families of the Missing, some search, some offer words of support and some are our Prayer Warriors, always lifting our Loved Ones before the Lord.

My hope is always that we find Austin. Whether we find him alive, or find his remains, we want to bring him home.  I pray that someone, somewhere, has information that could lead us to him and is brave enough to come forward and say, “I know where he is” or, “I saw him that day, and this is what happened.”

One person can make the difference to our family, or the family of another Missing Person and can be the difference between never knowing what happened, and being able to bring a loved one home.

Our story submitted with loving memories, and hope.

John  has been missing for 5 yrs from Dickerson, Maryland.  Police believe he was a victim of a homicide.  There is a suspect, but there is not enough evidence to make an arrest since John’s body has not been found.  Detectives say someone knows something, but no one has come forward.  They have now given John’s case to Cold Case detectives to see if they can come up with answers.
My heart is breaking and it gets worse with every year he’s missing.  Pleaase pray I get some answers soon.  Thank you.

Good afternoon Lisa , Monica at Cue center sent  out your flier “Project for the Missing “ , I would like to add my daughter Crystal to your prayer list . I have attached one of the fliers from several ones we have ,if you would like an individual picture , will be happy to supply to you . Crystal is my youngest daughter and mother of a 9 year little boy. She has been missing since August 23,2012 . Many searches by Police and CUE have turned up nothing . We even have had several private investigators look into her disappearance and run into only dead ends .It been the most devastating and frustrating experience of our lives. We have a grandson who everyday wonders where his Mom is and just wants her to come home and so do we. Crystal is a daughter that could bring great joy into life ,but at  the same time she mad bad choices when it came to men . Bottom line is I would appreciate adding her to your prayer list .

May God bless you and youth group for remembering the missing.

Sincerely Rick Morrison ( Father)

My dad will be missing 8 years January 13, 2013.  He was a healthy, loving father who would never walk away from his adult children without any word, which is what the Citrus County Sheriff’s department thinks.  I believe he is no longer with us because of the hands of another.  He couldn’t have committed suicide because no body has been found and you cannot hide yourself after you are dead.  I need prayers that his body is discovered and that some of my questions get answered and soon!  Thank you.

My wonderful wife disappeared on the evening of August 21,2008 from our home in Honolulu.  She was depressed at the time and it is believed that she went for a swim in the ocean with no intent on ever coming back, but there is no proof.
She is the most wonderful, warm, loving woman to ever have walked the earth.

Project Prayer For The Missing- Patrick Carnes

Patrick-Carnes animated_candle

DETAILS: In April of 2011, 86 year old Patrick F. Carnes (Pat), a Reno resident, embarked on a trip to visit relatives in Ohio. After Pat concluded his visit, he began his trip back to Reno on April 12th. Pat traveled westbound on Interstate 80 in his dark green Subaru station wagon accompanied by his eight year old male Lab/Akita mixed breed dog, “Lucky”.

On Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at 9:00 pm, Pat was on the interstate nearing the town of Wells, Nevada. As Pat approached a Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper, who was at that time on a traffic stop of a tractor trailer rig, Pat failed to move over to the lane farthest away from the trooper. Because of this, the trooper left the stop that he was on and proceeded after Pat and his Subaru. Pat was eventually stopped and warned about the moving violation. During the conversation between Pat and the Trooper, Pat commented, “I’m only following him because he is going to Elko.” After viewing the trooper’s dash cam video, it appeared as if Pat was following directly behind a tractor trailer rig.

On the morning of the following day, Thursday, April 14, 2011, at just a few minutes before 6:00 am, a Mine employee, on the way to work, observed a car parked in an unusual location off of Interstate 80 at the Pumpernickel Valley off-ramp (exit 205). This individual then contacted the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office to report what she had seen.

Upon a deputy’s arrival, he observed the Subaru to be empty, slightly high centered and stuck in the sage brush. The deputy sheriff checked the license on the vehicle and also requested HCSO Dispatch to attempt to contact the registered owner (Pat Carnes) in Reno. The plate information came back clear and Reno P.D. reported that no one answered the registered owner’s phone.

Two days later, on Sunday, April 17th, the Subaru was still in the same location. HCSO Dispatch again contacted the Reno Police Department and asked them to respond to the owner’s residence to check his welfare. At the same time that the Reno P.D. officers arrived at the residence, so did two of Patrick Carnes’ sons. Upon talking with Carnes’ sons, it was learned that they were at his (Pat’s) apartment to see if he had arrived home from his Ohio trip, since they had not heard from him.

Based upon the discovery of Pat’s car in Humboldt County and the fact that he was not at his residence in Reno, a Missing/Endangered Person report was taken and Pat was entered into the National Crime Information computer.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office then immediately began what would be several days of both ground and air searches in the area of the 205 exit at Pumpernickel Valley and I-80. Approximately 600 to 700 man hours were expended in this search. The search included canines, ATV’s, Jeeps, ground teams, and several aerial flights over the area.

Later searches were conducted during the summer that included the exploration (via camera equipment) of numerous mine shafts in the general area of where Pat Carnes’ vehicle was found.

The Sheriff’s Office has attempted to keep Pat’s disappearance in the media and therefore, hopefully, garner more tips related to this case. Pat’s case has been profiled on news channels in Reno and Las Vegas, as well as the Coast to Coast radio show (carried by KKOH radio in Reno). America’s Most Wanted also did a segment on this case during one of their new shows this past January. All of these outreaches have generated literally hundreds of tips which continue to be investigated. The Carnes family has also purchased billboard space along Interstate 80 in Golconda, featuring a photo of Pat as well as the Secret Witness phone number (775-623-6969). Humboldt County officials have also received assistance in this case from law enforcement personnel as far away as Illinois.

In March of 2006, a truck belonging to another Reno resident, Judith Casida – female adult, 62 years old – was also found parked and unoccupied off Interstate 80 at the 205 exit (Pumpernickel Valley). Mrs. Casida was also reported as a Missing and Endangered Person on a Washoe County Sheriff’s case. In this case, the Washoe Sheriff’s Office conducted the area search for Casida to no avail. As of this date, Mrs. Casida is still missing.

Both the Patrick Carnes and the Judith Casida cases are still open and active investigations. The Carnes case is being investigated by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the Casida case by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with any information, however slight, is greatly encouraged to contact the below listed numbers. It is the extreme desire of the investigators in both of these cases to bring answers to these families regarding the whereabouts of their loved ones.
