Details of Disappearance
Tamara Toy was last seen in May, 2006, when she was staying at a hotel with her boyfriend, Glenn Bivens. Toy was last heard from in March, 2006. After spending Christmas up north with her family, she called her son in March, 2006. That was the last time anyone in the family spoke with her. They did receive two Easter cards, postmarked in Tampa, from Toy. She sent the cards to her children, who live with family in Ohio. Toy’s last known location was at the Budget Inn, 8110 N. Tamiami Trail. That’s where she was staying with Bivens, who was arrested May 13 after almost running into a deputy in a patrol car. Toy was not at the motel at that time, but the family said they found out from the motel manager that she made a rent payment May 6. A man named Steve Cherok began paying for that motel room May 7. Bivens died when he jumped off the second floor of the Manatee County Jail in May, 2006. Before his suicide, Bivens told some of his fellow inmates that Toy had overdosed on drugs and he buried her body, but he gave no further details, according to police.Toy had an addiction to painkillers, a habit she picked up when she was a nurse on the East Coast, according to Hock. For detectives, the case is that of a missing person, and will be until the body is found.
Manatee County Sheriff’s Office
Tamara was 44 a mother of 4 and a LPN. Tamara had to have back surgery several years ago and became hooked on prescription drugs…which ultimately cost her her nursing career. She met up with a thug drug dealer who was able to supply her with drugs of any kind…Tamara went from prescription drugs to meth and other drugs to satisfy her addiction. I took her 12 year old daughter from her with alot of resistance! Thankfully I stood my ground for almost 7 years ago she came up missing in Bradenton, Florida.
By the time we found out she was missing almost three months was past. The Manatee county sheriffs office neglected to notify her family that Tamara’s thug boyfriend had committed suicide in the county jail after his arest for multiple charges….during that investigation into his death they found that he had told the inmates that Tamara had OD and had died and he had buried her. They found two shovels in the vehicle he had been driving that was registered to Tamara and some black plastic bags, bloody gloves and the back seat to the van was in the motel room that Tamara had paid the rent for. They interviewed the thugs mother whom he had confided in that Tamara had died and that he had indeed buried her…but the mother had not reported that story to police and in fact at first lied to authorities when questioned. We have searched everywhere to no avail and the Manatee Sheriffs Office has not been compliant with CUE.
